BloghuB is great! I am writing an article on how to do work on WP7 and will be using this tool to do so.

I fyou are keeping a wishlist for future versions, I would like to add to it the following:
+ Posting Images by uploading them to WordPress (instead of Picasa)
+ Downloading tags just as you download categories

+ I will list all my likes/dislikes on my blog as soon as I am done over the weekend.

When I am done with my review, you can link to it from yours (if you want).
    Thanks!
    DS

    Hi DSamuilov
Happy to hear that you like BloghuB so far and very happy to get such constructive feedback and suggestions for making the app better :-)

Already linked to your Blog. Will also link to the article once you have posted it.

I have not found a good way to put a wishlist with a voting onto this page but am still looking on how I can do that best.
I have defenately written down your suggestions.
In the current version it is actually possible to post/upload images directly to WordPress if you don’t configure a picasa account.
Picasa is really only needed if one uses Blogger.com as blogger does not allow uploading images to the blog directly through the remote API.
What’s currently missing is the selection and default setting on which service to use to upload the media files.
So if you use wordpress and don’t configure picase, the images will be uploaded to WordPress directly. Plans are to make that configurable for each blog configuration and have a setting for each post.

About the Tags: I have implemented an autocomplete box for the tags and use the WP7 Silverlight Toolkit for the auto-compelte box. Unfortunately does the Wp7 toolkit have rendering issues when hosted within a Pivot so I did not enable/include that in the current build. Will do so once the toolkit is fixed.

One other really anoying thing I would like to mention here is that the currently published version contains a very nasty bug as that it only publishes posts as Drafts when the MetaWeblog protocol is used. I already submitted a fix for that but it could take a little while until it has gone through the AppHub testing.

Thanks for your reply. I’m glad to hear that suggestions for enhancements are being taken into account.

Your app’s functionality has great potential. As implemented as it is today it’s already a winner. A few minor tweaks and you’ll have a huge success. Additionally, you are the only one who has a working app with this functionality. Your only other competitor in WP7 Marketplace does not work as advertised.

        Sure :-)

I found a few small issues:

        1) image upload size always reverts back to small (300 px)

        2) default image display size: only quadratically possible
If I upload a default photo taken from my LG E900 or a panorama it gets distorted, because it never has the same length as height.

        3) If tags are nested, its not possible to select the correct one, eg.

        * Photos
        * Vacation
        ** Photos

is display on the phone as:

        Photos
        Photos
        Vacation

        4) Maybe it would be nice, if I select the category name, that it gets selected. Hitting the selection box is a little bit hard.

        5) If I add two blogs based on wordpress multi-instance installation , the existing one is lost and only the last one is saved:

        eg.
        Blog 1 added:
        http://b1.domain.com

        Blog 2 added:
        http://b2.domain.com

then Blog 1 is deleted and only Blog 2 shows up.

        6) How do I change a post status from draft do published? I didn’t get that part :-)

        7) Is it possible to delete a post? (Would be nice for deleting test posts from the mobile phone).

        All the best,
        Thomas

          Thanks for the details Thomas.
          Here is an initial response.

          1) image upload size always reverts back to small (300 px)
          - This I just fixed in 1.2 which was submitted to the Marketplace. Should work as intended now.

          2) default image display size: only quadratically possible.
          - Also fixed in 1.2 (Image was wrongly streteched in the previewer.) Should look ok in the published version though…

          3) If tags are nested, its not possible to select the correct one, eg.
          - Have to look into this one.

          4) Maybe it would be nice, if I select the category name, that it gets selected. Hitting the selection box is a little bit hard.
          - Will add that in the next version :-)

          5) If I add two blogs based on wordpress multi-instance installation , the existing one is lost and only the last one is saved:
Hmm. Have to find out more on this one.

          6) How do I change a post status from draft do published? I didn’t get that part
          - There was a bug in V1.0 which didn’t allow you to set actually publish it.
In V1.1 and above you can go to the post options (Same pivot as the tags/categories) and toggle the “upload as draft”.

          7) Is it possible to delete a post?
If you are in the posting pivot view (where all the posts for a blog are listed) you can use the menu item (triage list) which will allow you to select multiple posts and delete those.
I think I might have to change the naming there…)

    Awesome,

    thanks for the fast feedback.

Point 3 should state nested categories not tags.

    Thanks again,

  6. Mark:

Does BloghuB support self-hosted WordPress sites? If so, then how do we figure out the right URL to use?

    Thanks!

  7. Thomas:

Self-hosted sites work fine for me,
    just use:
    http://www.yourdomain.com/xmlrpc.php

Be sure to enable in your backend:
Admin screen (Dashboard), Settings->Writing and check the XML-RPC checkbox in “Remote Publishing” section.
